글쓰기 과제: BFG의 등장인물 Bloodbottler가 되어, 동굴에 들어갔을 때 있었던 일을 써보세요.

I bashed into the BFG's cavern. I said, "Are you here Runt?" I heard the BFG saying to try the Snozzcumber and I went to the table but I saw a green snozzcumber and I ate it. It tasted like a horrible pickle and I spit out that terrible taste. I held BFG's hand tightly and I said that you are a disgrace to the other giants. I said to the BFG that Snozzcumber is disgusting just tasting like a horrible pickle.

I asked a question, "What are you doing with the jar filled with dreams". I said that humans are yummier and snozzcumber are disgusting. I hunt every night in house girls and boys. I knew that I was a carnivore but I had never seen these interesting green vegetables. I was filled with the grossness when I tried the snozzcumber and I ran because I didn't ever want to taste the snozzcumber again.

Going to a Sea of Stars

Staying at a beach at night is very calming. I have gone to beaches at night, and there weren't as much as people there anymore. It's quiet and calming, and it would still be enjoyable if you weren't swimming too, just watching the sea move in and out of the shore is entertaining. When there's less people there I can do more things like throwing sand at one of your friends without it hitting somebody else too, or more fun things like that. It's less crowded and I can have a good time to relax. The water wasn't as clean and clear, but I still enjoyed it.

Sitting along the shore, I want to admire the stars drifting on the shore. I would go on an airplane and have to take boats or even better a speed boat to get there. Before leaving I would be full of excitement and joy because I would be able to experience something new, and visit the sea of stars.

After Reading A Long Walk to Water, Chapter 2

I can understand or more importantly sympathize with Salva and the rest of the clan people as I am also usually separated from my other fellow students in a multitude of ways. When the rebels separated the women and men it reminded me of a time where in my old school we would always separate between genders. The boys always lifted the heavier stuff while the girls did lighter things to carry. Whenever you have to do something that consists of lifting something up, the teachers always pick the boys instead of the girls because they are considered to be stronger. Salva was pretty much excluded by both of the groups because he was the oldest kid out of the children group so he was an outcast but too young for the men group. Salva could only fit into the middle but there was no middle ground; there were only two groups not three. During team exercises or team projects, I'm most likely the person to get booted off the team as I'm both social and non-social. Since I'm social I can fit into a group easily and flow with the conversation but since I'm not social it takes me time to warm up to someone and I don't make new friends easily. In the story they first got split into clans then the rebels came and took them altogether to the camp. It's like how my classmates and lots of other students are also usually sorted out by classes/teachers. Then, the speaker turns on and tells us to come to a class which is usually the gym. It can be for a multitude of reasons, assembly, switching classes, etc. Now, I think that's all the ways I can have empathy towards them getting separated from their fellow clan members.

Quotation Analysis

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, pg. 337–338

"She looked at Cara then, really looked at her. And the invisible barrier around her closed in, constricting her throat as she tried to push down the tears. The sadness she felt for Cara was black and twisting and hungry. How was any of this fair?"

This quotation is important to the whole plot because the main character Pip was investigating a murder case for a school project and found out that her best friend's father is the murderer. Relating to the theme which is friendship, even though Pip is relieved that she found out the murderer, her project can come to an end, and she was right the entire time. She feels sorry for her friend Cara. Pip feels sorry for Cara when she did not do anything wrong because she spent almost her whole life with Cara and knows that Cara will be devastated because she lost her mother a few years ago. Pip reporting the murderer to the police will leave Cara shattered with only her sister left, but she will need to do it for Sal who was accused of murder for years. Not only that she feels bad for Cara, Pip has mixed emotions because Cara's father Elliot is a teacher at her school and she must have had many interactions with him because they live in a small town in Connecticut.

Research About the Star of David

The Star of David was first used by the Jewish Community of Prague as their first official symbol. In the 17th century, many Jewish communities used the Star of David as their own official seal and the general sign of Judaism. The Star was also adopted by the Zionist Movement at its 1897 Congress after the Dreyfus Affair in the 19th century. In the 20th century, the Nazis used the Star of David to mark Jews for oppression. After the Holocaust, the same star that was used against the Jews became part of Israel's flag.

The Star of David is not only a complex symbol, but it also has meaning behind it. According to a medieval book of Jewish mysticism called Zohar, the six points of the star represent the male attributes of God and the seventh point (center of the Star) is the sefirah of the female. There are also seven fields in the Star of David which are, kindness, severity, harmony, perseverance, splendor, foundation, and royalty. A more modern explanation of the Star of David would be that the corners of one represent creation, revelation and redemption. The corners of the other represent Man, the World, and God. There are also three entities in the Star of David named the Holy One, Zorah, and Israel.

Personal Narrative: Getting Braces

The buzzing sound roared. Shiny, and long tools on the right side. Waiting to open my mouth widely. Lied down on the chair with half excitement, and half nervousness. Imagining the organized teeth with a happy smile. "Are you excited to get braces?" asked a dentist. "Yes," I said as I thought of all my worries. What if I have a cavity? I thought. What if I don't get braces for that reason?

Bright sunshine, squeezing the curtain to come in. I opened my eyes widely and rushed toward the kitchen, not even wearing my glasses.

"Mom! What date is it?" I ask.

"Good morning," said mom calmly.

"Good morning, what date is it?" I ask again.

"September 5th," mom answered.

Finally, it's the day I get braces. I started to get ready to go to the dentist. When I got ready, I started to feel anxious. First the symptoms started in the car with shaking one's leg. Then biting my fingernails. Biting fingernails situation did not happen that long because I didn't really like it. I folded my arms instead. I was hearing rushing car sounds the whole time, until I arrived at the dentist.

When I went to the dentist, I waited until my name was called. When finally the dentist called my name, I went into the place where the bending chair was placed. The dentist introduced herself.

"Hi, my name is Maxi. I'm going to attach your braces today," said the dentist. "You can put on the sunglasses."

I had to put sunglasses on because of the bright light on the top, so the light can help the dentist to see my teeth better.

"It's starting!" I thought. "It's really starting!"
